1.) Antonio is depressed without knowing why. What two possible reasons do his friends suggest?

He's in love and he doesn't have a money.

2.) Do you think Gratiano's contributions help Antonio's mood?

He broke his feelings.

3.) What are your first impressions of Bassanio?

A selfish guy.

5.) Why does he need to borrow money again now

To impress a girl.

6.) How do Portia's first words compare with Antonio's?

She's depressed too.

7.) What is the reason for her mood?

She has to do what her father ask for.

8.) Do you think Nerissa is a help to her?

I think so because she calls out their names and Portia's describe them.

9.) Sum up, in a word or short phrase, Portia's attitude to her suitors so far?

ACT ONE, SCENE THREE

1.) Shylock is a moneylender. Does he seem eager to do business with Bassanio? How do you know?  

maybe, because he's wearing a fake smile.

2.) Which does Shylock think safe, his business or Antonio?

 I choose the business because maybe Antonio's ship will come back.

3.) Why doesn't Shylock want to dine with Bassanio and Antonio?

because they hate each other because of their religion.

4.) What strict principal of his is Antonio breaking to help Bassanio?

   He's giving a pound of flesh.

5.) Shylock tells a bible story to prove that the taking of profit is blessed, as long as thieving is not involved. Does he convince Antonio? Give evidence.

giving a profit is bad that's why Antonio is teasing/bullying Shylock.

6.) Shylock accuses Antonio of a whole catalog of nastiness. How does Antonio answer the charges?

 he asks Shylock if he can borrow a money for him and Shylock make a deal. If it is too late to

7.) How does Bassanio react to proposed bond?

  he tells his friend to not to borrow a money to Shylock because his worried about Antonio.
