2.) What do you think it means to be ordinary? What makes August extraordinary?
He was born extraordinary because of his face.

3.) How do people react when they see Auggie's face for the first time? How would you react?

I would like to sit next to him and be friends with him.

4.) August's dad said, " So sending him off to middle school like lamb to the slaughter...". What does this mean? Explain. Suicide mission.

What type of Government New Zealand has and how we vote?

                                                 What type of Government? Democracy
Democracy is a political system for choosing and replacing the government
                      through free and fair elections.

What is the democracy in New Zealand?
is a democratic country in which the Mp's are chosen in fair elections.
The citizen and the permanent residents who are aged 18 plus are required to enroll to
vote. And New Zealand voters have two votes. Every NZ citizen who enrolled as an elector is            eligible to be a candidate for election as MP. The Democracy would gove the citizens many
opportunities to participate in a decision of making and provide. Ex.
                                               -freedom from corruption
                                               -protection for individual rights
-imperial judges who treat everyone equally
                                               -and many more.

What kind of government is in New Zealand? Ex. A constitutional monarchy,                              Parliamentary system, and Unitary State. New Zealand has a chamber of Parliament which
consists of the House of Representatives, which generally has 120 MP's, the Governor
General (who does not personally attend the House). The law requires elections at least once
every three years and two months.

Particle Theory of Matter- Convection

Aim: To observe convection in a liquid.
Convection: 200mL beaker, water, Tweezers, a crystal of potassium permanganate, a drinking straw, Bunsen Burner, heat mat, tripod and gauze mat.

Method:
1.) Set up a Bunsen burner on a heatproof mat. Put the gauze mat on the tripod but leave it just to one side of the Bunsen burner

2.) Fill a 200mL beaker with 150mL cold water.

3.) Place the beaker on the top of the tripod and gauze and allow it to settle for a few minutes.

4.) Carefully insert a drinking straw down one side of the beaker, ensuring the straw is touching the bottom of the beaker. Be careful as you do not want to disturb the water too much.

5.) Using tweezers, drop a crystal of potassium permanganate down the inside of the straw. Wait for the crystal to settle on the bottom of the beaker.

6.) Very gently, so to not disturb the water, remove the straw.

7.) Light the Bunsen and slide it under the tripod so that you are only heating the outside of the beaker where the crystal is. Observe.

Observations:
We insert the straw carefully in the side of the beaker then we drop the potassium permanganate down the inside the straw.

Explanation:
As the potassium permanganate was heated it raised. When the particle is heated more it tends to move around more.

Act 4, Scene 1

1.) What does the Duke believe Shylock intends to do? Showing mercy

2.) What does Shylock intend to do, and what reasons does he give for his decision? He wants to kill Antonio

3.) Why must the law be allowed to stand ( why can't the judge dismiss this case)?
Cause they have to follow the law.
4.) Shylock is very clear about restrictions on the wording of the deed, how does Portia use these loopholes? She said the contract doesn't give any blood at all, the words expressly specify " a pound of flesh" if there's one drop of blood he'll be punished.

5.) What penalties does Shylock now have to pay? Are they fair? Why/why not.
He wants the flesh not blood if there's one drop of blood he'll be punished, and he must follow the rules. I think it's fair, I don't know why.
6.) How do Lorenzo and Jessica gain the result?
Shylock has forced his right for his will. Then they gain money.
7.) What rewards have Portia claimed and why is this significant?
A ring 8.) Portia tells Shylock 'The quality of mercy is not strained'. How does she try to persuade Shylock to show mercy, how much mercy is she willing to show him ( line 345-362)
Quote: The laws of Venice state that if a foreign resident directly or indirectly attempts to kill any citizen, the person he tried to kill will receive one-half of the foreigner’s goods. The other half goes to the state. Whether the offending person lives or dies is up to the duke—there’s no one else to appeal to. In your predicament, you’ve earned that punishment, because you’ve clearly contrived indirectly—and directly too—to take the life of the defendant. So get down on your knees and beg mercy from the duke.

Observing Convection 2

Aim: To observe convection in a gas.
Convection: Scissors, paper spiral pattern, string, a source of heat ( boiling water, radiator, etc.)
Method:
1.) Cut out the spiral pattern below, carefully following the dashed line
2.) Tie a length of cotton through the hole on the top of the spiral.
3.) Hold the spiral 30-40 cm above a heat source such as a radiator.
4.) observe

Observations:
The hot air is lighter than the surrounding air which makes the paper rise and turn. If there's a cold air the paper won't turn.
Explanation:
It spins if there's a hot air beneath it.
