Wonder

1.) What was August's one wish that he wanted? If you could change one thing about your appearance what would it be? He wish that he wants to be like other kids.

2.) What do you think it means to be ordinary? What makes August extraordinary?
He was born extraordinary because of his face.

3.) How do people react when they see Auggie's face for the first time? How would you react?
They're confused and they don't want to sit right next to Auggie.
I would like to sit next to him and be friends with him.

4.) August's dad said, " So sending him off to middle school like lamb to the slaughter...". What does this mean? Explain. Suicide mission.

5.) Would you send August to school if you were his mom or dad? Explain why or why not.
I would, so he can learn more rather than home school and make new friends.

6.) What white lie did august mom tell? Why did she do it? Are white lies ok to tell?
August mom told Auggie that the women is coming to check his IQ but in reality august mom set up a test for august to get into Beecher prep. She done it because if August found out if he was doing a test to get into school he would not do it therefore she lied to him.

No, because I think it would make the situation worse.

7.) Auggie decided to he liked Mrs. Garcia - when she wasn't wearing her shiny smile. What is a ' shiny smile'?  She was smiling but it was a fake smile.

8.) How does Auggie know the first time he meets Julian that he will be a bully?  What are some of the ways that Julian bullies Auggie? How does Auggie respond? He ask him like " What's the deal with your face?" then Auggie respond him

  1. Kia Ora Alliah, it is great to see the detail you have put into your answers. Are you enjoying the book so far? How do you think you would treat Auggie if you met him?
